Sadly
on Wednesday 01st
March Past President
Andy Robinson passed
away in hospital
where he was being
treated for cancer.
Andy joined the
bowling club
eighteen years ago
in 2005 and he would
be first to tell you
he wasn't a top
bowler but he
thoroughly enjoyed
his bowls and played
in many competitions
and tournaments.
He was a lovely guy
well liked around
the club and he and
his wife Senga
attended all our
club socials, quiz
nights and cabaret
functions and if
there was a
sing-song Andy would
delight the company
with his special
rendition of "a
wee cock sparra"
-
I can visualise him
singing it as I
write these
words.....
He was so
looking forward to
his presidential
year in 2022, but
sadly was diagnosed
with cancer but was
still determined to
fulfil his
obligation to be
President and his
opening day took
place on 02nd April 2022.
He fulfilled all his
duties and had a
successful and
thoroughly enjoyable
year. He loved
the bowling club and
all the brilliant
times he had here
with his pals.
Our
sincere condolences
go to his wife
Senga, his son
Andrew, daughter
Gail and all the
grandchildren who
all will miss him
dearly. Rest in
peace old pal.
