Sad news indeed to hear that Past President (1986) and Past Champion (1987) of Cambuslang BC and current member of Halfway BC, John MacFarlane, fondly known as KB, died this evening, 6th July.....😥

The funeral for my uncle, John Macfarlane, will take place at Daldowie Crematorium on Friday, 17 July, 2020, at 11.45am.
The hearse, followed by family cars, will depart from Munns Funeral Parlour, Fishescoates, at 11.00 - 11.05am and drive down Douglas Drive, passing the former family home he shared with my Aunt Sadie for so many years, past Cambuslang Bowling Club, down to John"s favourite Friday night haunt, the Black Bull, before heading up Hamilton Road to pass Halfway Bowling Club and then onwards to final destination at Daldowie.
Due to current circumstances only a maximum of 20 people are allowed inside Daldowie Crematorium and each will receive notification under separate cover. However, others are welcome to attend and pay their respects in the grounds of Daldowie.
Only family flowers are permitted too.
These have been extremely difficult decisions to make, but I know you will appreciate nothing else can be done during these unprecedented times.
Family pallbearers will carry John"s coffin into the crematorium
On behalf of the family, I would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support over the past while.
They are all appreciated immensely

Member Willie Rae 16th January 2021

        Sad news this evening that our much loved member Willie Rae died this evening. He hadn't been keeping well and was taken into hospital last week but sadly the diagnosis wasn't good and his health sadly deteriorated.
   Willie enjoyed his bowls and indeed had some noteable successes: in 2011 he won the RDBA Triples along with past president Alex Latimer and Brian Page. 2012 he won the mixed pairs with Janet Dawson. In 2014 he won the club balloted pairs with Alex Hay and in 2016 he was lead in the rink which won the Alex MacFarlane Charity Trophy.

A proud ex Cameronian and regularly attended re-unions. He was an ex-steel worker, shop steward and chairman of the joint unions Dalziel & Clydebridge. Treasurer of the local Heart & Stroke club and was a great help to many in the local community.
He was a Past Master of Lodge Buchanan 1499, Hon.Member of Lodge Cambuslang Royal Arch 114 and a Past Principal and current treasurer of Cambuslang Royal Arch Chapter 282. A keen and well loved freemason who will be dearly missed by all the brethren and indeed by all the organisations he was part of.

Our sincere condolences to his wife Jean, son Steven, daughter Angela, the granchildren and all the family.
