At our AGM on February 09th 2016 Past President Peter Phillips was made an Honorary President of the club.

Peter is the 21st President in our 143 year history to be given this honour.

Peter joined Cambuslang BC in 1998 and soon thereafter became a Director and has been an ever present stalwart of the club. He had spells as treasurer, greenkeeper, house convenor and has performed many technical and manual tasks within the club and is always willing to take the initiative and get the job done.  He was delighted in 2004 to be given the honour of being Club President and fullfilled his duties along with his wife Ann in an exemplary manner. In 2004 he helped re-establish the Club's Burns Supper which had disappeared from our calendar and it is now a firm favourite and sold out every year.. A wee local snippet in April 2004 at his Opening Day was the 'christening' of our now famous 'Daldowie Lounge' The Club travelled to Dublin in May 2004 during Peter's Presidency and PiggeryBrae were invited. A very successful bowling tour organised by our Secretary David Barnett. In May 2004 at our annual Charity event a record amout of £2,890 was raised for CHAS, the children's hospice. Citation read : Peter Phillips has been a volunteer worker in the community for many years. He was the treasurer for many years in the Cambuslang Miners Welfare and held the position of secretary and President of Cambuslang Bowling Club. In 2010 Peter became Club President for a second time. It was a double celebration this year as Peter's wife Ann was also Lady President in 2010. Peter has over the years provided the club with generous sponsorship  and has covered numerous jobs on the committee. In 2015 he took on the onerous task of looking after the bar and setting up a volunteer bar rota. He can be seen most Monday evenings working the bar.
